About Simon

Simon has worked in strategy and leadership roles for more than 20 years and has spent more than a decade working as an independent advisor, educator and keynote speaker. 

Through formal education in strategic foresight and futures thinking along with experience as a corporate futurist for Rio Tinto Iron Ore, Simon has a deep understanding of strategy development and facilitation. Since moving to Melbourne in 2010 Simon has worked as an independent consultant and has supported dozens of organisations and educated thousands of leaders in strategic foresight, scenario planning, strategic decision making and how to manage technology driven change.

Outside of his consulting and speaking work Simon is proud to facilitate the strategy component of the Local Government Professional’s Executive Leadership Program and he is also an experienced independent non-executive director and board chair.

Simon formal qualifications include

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Management and Finance
  • Graduate Certificate in Future Studies
  • Master of Business Leadership
  • Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors

 

Over the last decade Simon has also authored three books Analogosaurus, The Digital Champion and most recently, The Scenario Planning Guide. He has also done stints as a media commentator and guest writer for various industry publications.
